Our aquarium shop in Laillé, near Rennes
The NéoTropic shop welcomes you directly at our breeding facility in Laillé, Ille-et-Vilaine (35), south of Rennes in Brittany.
Here you can discover our freshwater fish and invertebrates, the majority of which are bred and raised directly by NéoTropic, alongside animals sourced from other breeders and certain imported species, including our wild Lake Malawi cichlids.
Buying directly from our breeding facility also gives you the opportunity to receive advice from our team and discover part of our professional facilities.
Opening hours and directions
Our shop is open to the public every Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm.
For professionals and private customers who are unable to visit on Saturdays, visits can also be arranged by appointment during the week.

Our shop is easily accessible from Rennes and has on-site parking.
Purchases made in store can be paid for by bank card, cheque or cash.
Fish and invertebrates available in our shop
At our shop, you can discover a wide selection of the animals offered by NéoTropic:
- cold-water fish, including koi carp;
- tropical freshwater fish: Corydoras, Ancistrus, Guppies, Mollies, Danios, Barbs, Rasboras and Boraras, Tetras, bottom-dwelling fish, Gastromyzon, killifish and many other species, ranging from popular aquarium fish to rarer and more unusual species;
- African cichlids, with a particular specialisation in species from Lake Malawi and Lake Tanganyika;
- wild cichlids imported from Lake Malawi;
- freshwater shrimp;
- crayfish, crabs, snails and other aquarium invertebrates.
The majority of the animals we sell are bred and raised directly at our facility in Laillé. Our own production is complemented by animals sourced from other breeders as well as certain imported species.
Direct sales, particularly for animals produced at our own breeding facility, reduce the number of intermediaries and enable us to offer competitive prices to both private and professional customers.

Educational visits for schools and aquaculture courses
NéoTropic also welcomes, by appointment, school groups and students studying aquaculture for educational visits to our breeding facility.
These visits give students the opportunity to discover the facilities of a professional freshwater fish and invertebrate breeding operation, learn about breeding and rearing techniques, and see the hygiene and prophylactic measures applied on a daily basis.
Educational visits are organised by appointment only.
